Account Setup & Implementation

The traditional system fails clients at both ends.

People are told to begin investing early and seek professional guidance as soon as possible. Then, when they ask for help, many firms turn them away because they have not already accumulated $500,000 or more.

Those who do meet the minimum can face a different problem: fees that automatically increase as their investments grow—even when the time, work, and service they receive do not increase with them.

The Traditional Model

Too little to qualify. More wealth means a larger bill.

If you are beginning:

You may be denied personal guidance because you have not accumulated enough investable assets—even though this is when early planning could make the greatest long-term difference.

If you have accumulated wealth:

A traditional fee of 1%–1.25% on a $500,000–$800,000 portfolio can cost approximately $5,000–$10,000 every year. As your portfolio grows, your fee automatically grows with it, whether or not your needs or the work required have changed.

The system rewards people for already having wealth instead of helping them build it—and then charges them more simply because they have more.

The C Squires Solutions Model

Guidance based on the help you need—not the amount you own.

We believe financial guidance should be accessible when you are beginning your journey and fairly priced after you have achieved success.

Instead of automatically tying your cost to the size of your portfolio, our pricing reflects the work performed, the complexity of your situation, and the value of the guidance provided. Whether you are investing your first dollar or managing a lifetime of accumulated wealth, you receive personal attention, honest guidance, and a plan designed around your goals.

A true charge-by-service approach: a one-time cost based on the work completed—not a recurring subscription tied to the amount you own.

No one should be turned away for not already being wealthy—or overcharged simply because they are. That is the gap C Squires Solutions was created to close.

The Math Behind The Rarity

Why beating the market, year after year, is so rare

Trying to consistently pick winning stocks or funds isn't just difficult — it's a compounding probability problem, and the real-world data backs up the math.

The Probability Problem

Imagine an investor has roughly a coin-flip's chance of beating the market in any single year. That single 50/50 shot doesn't stay 50/50 for long — the odds of stringing together wins year after year collapse fast:

50% Chance in any single year
~0.1% Chance across 10 straight years (about 1 in 1,024)
~0.0001% Chance across 20 straight years (about 1 in 1 million)
~1 in 1.1 trillion Chance across 40 straight years, by pure luck alone

This is a simplified illustration, not a claim that real returns are literal coin flips — but it's a useful way to see why consistency is so hard to sustain by chance alone. And as the data below shows, real-world persistence turns out to be even weaker than random chance would predict.

What the Professional Data Shows

Professional fund managers have research teams, institutional data, and enormous resources — and the numbers still tell a consistent story. Here's what the industry's own benchmark studies report:

79% Of active large-cap U.S. funds underperformed the S&P 500 in 2025 alone S&P Global SPIVA U.S. Scorecard ↗
~90% Underperformed over the trailing 15-year period S&P Global SPIVA U.S. Scorecard ↗
Rarer still Very few funds even survive 20+ years — most are closed or merged away after sustained underperformance S&P Global Persistence Scorecard ↗
Luck, not skill S&P's own persistence data finds that when top funds do outperform, it holds up even worse than random chance would predict S&P Global Persistence Scorecard ↗

The Rare Exceptions

The handful of investors who have beaten the market for decades are famous precisely because it's a statistical outlier, not a repeatable formula:

Warren Buffett · Berkshire Hathaway

A 19.7% compounded annual gain from 1965–2025, versus 10.5% for the S&P 500 — sustained for six decades.

Berkshire Hathaway 2025 Shareholder Letter ↗

Peter Lynch · Fidelity Magellan Fund

A 29.2% annualized return from 1977–1990, growing the fund from roughly $18 million to $14 billion in just 13 years.

For the rest of us, this is exactly why a low-cost, broad-market index fund is so popular: instead of fighting odds that get longer every year, you simply guarantee that you capture the market's return — the same return the professionals are, on average, failing to beat.

And every number above is before a single advisor fee is even added on top. Stack a high-cost active fund together with a percentage-based advisor fee, and you can end up paying twice for a worse result: once to the fund, and again to the person who picked it. See exactly where your money goes once a fee like that is added — then try it yourself with your own numbers below.

Why I Founded C Squires Solutions

I believe in delivering exceptional value and going above and beyond for every person I serve. Clients should never have to choose between personal attention and fair pricing. Everyone deserves thoughtful guidance, responsive service, and a financial plan built around their unique circumstances and goals.

My interest in finance began when I was 13. I started investing in Bitcoin and opened my own brokerage account, where I purchased shares in Fortune 500 companies such as Apple, American Airlines, and ExxonMobil. Through those early experiences, I discovered the power of thoughtful investing and the remarkable growth that can come from combining sound financial decisions with compound interest over time.

I later earned dual bachelor's degrees in Finance and Accounting from Arizona State University. After graduating, I worked briefly in tax and wealth management before transitioning to my current role as a seminary teacher for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Along the way, I saw an industry that too often places everyday individuals, young professionals, and growing families beneath high asset minimums—while charging affluent households tens of thousands of dollars each year for services that may not provide proportional value.

The financial industry constantly tells people to begin investing as early as possible and seek professional guidance from the start. Yet many traditional firms turn those same people away unless they already have $500,000 or more in investable assets. How is a 22-year-old who is just beginning a career supposed to have that kind of money? The system too often rewards people for already having wealth instead of helping them build it. That system is broken—and C Squires Solutions is here to help fix it.

I believe the person investing their first dollar deserves the same level of care, respect, and personal service traditionally reserved for the wealthiest clients. At the same time, affluent clients should not be overcharged simply because they can afford to pay more. My fees are based on the work I perform and the value I provide—not on the highest price a client can bear or the amount that generates the most revenue for me. Whether you are just beginning to build wealth or managing a lifetime of accumulated assets, you deserve honest guidance, fair pricing, and a financial professional who is genuinely committed to your success.

My faith shapes the way I strive to treat every person. Jesus Christ taught, “Therefore, what manner of men ought ye to be? Verily I say unto you, even as I am” (3 Nephi 27:27). I take that counsel to heart and strive to follow His example by serving others with honesty, compassion, fairness, and genuine concern for their success.
